You're right - good points. I stand corrected! More importantly though I'm glad you enjoyed the content of the article.

All the best,

I think if you're going to encourage writers, though, you should write in proper grammar.

As just one example, this sentence is full of grammatical errors: "Arguably those that are good enough, and keep submitting, will get noticed by agents and publishers, who are full of talented people as keen to sign the next literary superstar as the writer is to be one."

Corrections would include: 1. Writers are people so it should be: "Arguably those WHO are good enough ..." and 2. businesses should not be referred to as people: " ... will get noticed by agencies and publishing houses THAT are full of talented ..."

Sorry - the grammar today drives me crazy; the world is full of great writers who can't write ...

And, this is a great, informative article

The Scandies don't turn me on because of their cost of living and don't get me started on Switzerland. I had a friend who spent four years working there but lived in France over the border the whole time because Switzerland as a country is totally insufferable to live in.

Many thanks, Graham - much appreciated.

As for your question, do you mean top five places in the world, or in Spain?

In general - and without seeming like I'm trying to avoid the question! - it's a personal choice. Different people have different ideas about what their ideal life looks like. Some want year-round sun, some like seasons; some want mountains, others the sea; some want to be in an English-speaking country, others don't; some want to be in easy reach of their homeland, others prefer to be across the world.

That being said, the top five destinations traditionally are ...

For Brits:
1) Australia
2) Spain
3) United States
4) Canada
5) Ireland

For Americans:
1) Mexico
2) Canada
3) UK
4) Germany
5) Israel

When it comes to quality of life though, as measured by the sundry studies into these topics, it turns out it's hard to beat the Scandinavian countries or Switzerland!
